In the regeneration cartridges used in respirators for carbon dioxide adsorption, heat and water are released. Especially the heat becomes a burden for the user. It must, therefore, be removed. To this end, a regenerant of the cartridge is followed by a cooling device which contains a coolant, e.g. water ice. The cooling device comprises a threaded member which is screwed into a screwthread type recess of the cartridge container. The breathing air then sweeps the cooling device in thermal contact in a spiral channel formed between the wall of the container and the insert and terminating in an outlet, as it cools the breathing air. The condensation collects at the lower point of the channel, where there is a spring-loaded drain valve, and when the valve has opened, it drains to the outside under the force of the positive respiratory pressure and a collecting condensate water column.

The regenerative cartridge comprises a housing 1 in which regenerating means 2 is installed, for example lime, which is placed between the retaining grids 3. Behind the transducer means 2 along the flow of inhaled air there is a cooling device 4, which is made with a helical side surface. It is screwed into box 5, which also has a helical side surface. The insert 5 forms with the walls of the housing 1 a channel b, ending with an outlet nozzle 7. In the area of the outlet nozzle 7 in the lower part 8 of the channel 6, a spring-loaded valve 9 is installed to remove condensate.
The cooling device 4 is filled with the cooling means 10. The filling with the cooling means 10 is performed through the filling nozzle 11 closed by the stopper 12.
The device works as follows.
The respiratory air, cleared of C02 by the regenerating agent 2, flows through the spiral channel 6 with the housing 1 and the insert 5 and then through. a cut exhaust pipe 7 out of the regenerative cartridge. The air is forced to flow through the spiral channel 6 tangentially around the perimeter and therefore is in thermal contact with the cooling means 10,
